Reviews

Heritage Portland Stone ®bricks are from the renowned historical quarries of Portland in Dorset.

This prestigious, hard wearing material is admired for is quality, colour, and durability.

The bricks are 215mm x 102mm x65mm and are a white to cream colour with a unique textured finish that includes the full range of geology that is characteristic of this limestone, with elements of shell often evident in the surface and body of the material.

The bricks are sawn on all 6 sides, with no frog cut out.

The bricks are processed to the standard brick size of 215mm x 102mm x 65mm. The tolerances are as per BSEN 771-6 for D2 category, with the height, length and width cut to +/- 2mm.

Portland stone bricks are very dense and much stronger than typical facing brick, with the technical properties being similar to a class B engineering bricks. The compressive strength is typically in the range of 40 to 60 MPa, so the bricks are at the upper range of masonry bricks and close to the level required for engineering bricks class B. The Heritage Portland Stone is frost resistant as determined by BS EN 12371 losing typically 15% strength on frost cycles 14 to 168, and classed as A1 for fire resistance.

The Compressive strength is an average 47.97 MPa LEV 37 MPa.

Water absorption 5.85%

Portland Stone is normally supplied as a luxury cladding for the most exclusive properties and buildings in the UK, but now offer a portfolio of natural stone exclusively through Stone & Surfaces Direct .

The Portland stone bricks are delivered on a pallet which contains300 bricks which will cover approx 5m2.

Half packs = 150 bricks [2.5m2]

Refunds or replacements will be processed within 14 days of receiving and inspecting the returned items. Please note that we may apply a deduction if goods have been handled in a way that would not be permitted in a retail setting.
